The emergence of increasingly affordable variable-speed drive technology has changed the approach used to control chilled water systems equipped with these drives. purpose this research was develop an integrated modeling technique that can determine optimal system setpoints and estimate energy saving potential chiller system. Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) on cooling tower fans condenser pumps. To accomplish objective, physical component models centrifugal chiller, pump were established goal incorporating system’s flow rate fan speeds as optimization variables. Furthermore, a load prediction algorithm developed using multiple non-linear regression model approximate building’s subject range environmental conditions. inputs outputs individual linked how adjusting speed would influence comprehensive performance. overall then optimized generalized reduced gradient savings through VFDs ascertain logic strategy for building automation operate heating A case-study performed single at museum calibrated according logged data collected over four months.
